When a Windy Boat is born, it is a great moment, and the birth of the brand new Windy SR28 CC is no exception!

Designed internally and externally by the Windy Design Team, this new walk-around pure Scandinavian cruiser features stunning, lines, vast versatility and of course the exceptional sea-keeping and heritage that defines every Windy boat.

Deep bulwarks keep her broad side decks free of spray, ensuring optimal safety at sea, and ease of movement for her crew. The area forward of the main console is a relaxed and sociable seating area (think bowrider with bells on), with an adjustable table and seating for four or five available in the Premium SR package. If you want to use this space to sunbathe, or just to lie out and enjoy the view, then an extra infill pad drops in here. There is a full set of Helly Hansen covers provided to protect all seating and the console and the Windy SR28 CC is as pure a powerboat as you could wish for – she just eats up the sea miles thanks to her super-stiff deep-vee hull profile.

As you would expect from Windy, the finish is first-rate, with a secure rail running around the decks, and the mooring kit tucked safely away – whilst remaining easily accessible when needed. The central console features a screen at just the right height to keep the helm and navigator out of the breeze when seated, with a pair of adjustable bolstered seats allowing a comfortable driving position whether seated, or standing. The console is typical Windy – everything falls to hand, with a large Raymarine Axiom 16” screen, Zipwake’s Dynamic Trim controls fitted as standard, a tactile single-spoke steering wheel and engine throttle control placed exactly where you want it.

The companionway door slides neatly into a recess behind the instruments to reveal the SR28 CC’s party piece – a cabin that stretches forward towards the bows, with a fixed double berth, storage to port and a separate head compartment to starboard, with a marine WC, basin and black water tank as standard.

With interior lighting from the forward port-light and overhead LED strips, this is a cosy spot to over-night, and a useful space for day storage.

Windy have designed the aft cockpit area around the outboard engine on the SR28 CC. With powerful options from Mercury and Yamaha for speeds over 40 knots, the aft deck extends into a swallowtail bathing platform, for easy access to the dock, or into the water. The robust aft frame is a useful handhold and water-ski or tow connection point, and leads forward to the aft cockpit seating. The comfortable aft bench seat back-rest hinges, for a view over the transom, or forward to the helm, and there is useful storage around the cockpit, and the option to fit another table here – so you have two entertaining areas, seating for eight, a double cabin with separate facilities, walk-around practicality and awesome sea-keeping – all under 30 feet!
