Classic Hoek 82, SWEET EMOTION is the product of Dutch design and build at its very best. She has beautiful joinery throughout and is full of clever and subtle details that are a hallmark of her designer and builders. She has a powerful hull shape and eats miles and she offers comfortable and easy sailing. Her deck saloon is tremendous for either cold or warm waters and there are steps down to a cathedral like lower saloon. Both guests and owners have wonderful accommodation aboard a yacht that will always turn heads.

SWEET EMOTION is offered after a significant refit completed from 2023. Works carried out include but are not limited to –

• New teak deck of 15mm.
• Aluminium subdeck totally prepared and refaired and primed before the new deck was applied.
• Full repaint of the topsides in flag blue Awlgrip.
• Full repaint of the superstructure in white Awlgrip.
• Rondal hatches all refurbished with new lenses fitted where needed and handles serviced
• Deck saloon upholstery.
• New carpets.
• The interior was re-varnished as needed.
• The rig was pulled, with all rigging and fittings removed and inspected. Rods and terminals were inspected, polished and refitted. A survey is available on request.
• Full repaint of mast and boom to the original specification.
• All blocks and other sailing gear was inspected and serviced.
• All deck hardware and hinges were serviced and polished before refitting.
• The main engine was fully serviced.
• New bimini.

Owner’s Comments

Since the early 70s, I had a dream to one day buy a sailing yacht big enough to sail any place in the world. After I sold my company, a friend and I surveyed what was available in the Mediterranean and we short-listed SWEET EMOTION. When I first saw her, I knew she would be mine, her beauty brought tears to my eyes.

In my ownership, SWEET EMOTION has sailed most of Europe, Scandinavia, the Mediterranean and Atlantic. She has done numerous Trans-Atlantics too, as I have enjoyed spending January to March in the Caribbean and the Bahamas on her and then the summer in Europe. I have also sailed the East Coast of America up to Nova Scotia – it was magical to sail into New York Yacht Club on the 4th of July!

SWEET EMOTION has had significant refit periods in my ownership in 2011 and 2016. Over the last winter of 2022/23 she had another significant refit including lovely new 15mm teak decks, new paint for hull, superstructure and rig which has been totally refurbished. This is in addition to a long list of other improvements and so she sparkles, as she should.

SWEET EMOTION is unique and without a doubt a head turner. When under sail she glides through the water and it is incredibly tranquil. Her sailing performance exceeds what one would suspect from her looks. She is definitely no motor sailor. In my ownership, she has made all her passages under sail and has proven herself – delivering fast and reliable passage times. My captain, who has been aboard SWEET EMOTION for 13 years, is still in awe of her performance under sail in all weathers. She sails upwind in the lightest of airs and will also ride out heavy weather in safety and comfort. Further, she is a very comfortable yacht and it has been easy to spend months on her at a time.

It is with great sadness I have decided to sell her, but as I get older, I have found my mobility means that I find getting on and off her whilst at anchor increasingly difficult due to my arthritis.
