The Dale Classic 45 is as close to perfection as you will find. A seriously capable offshore machine that is outrageously good looking, safety orientated, stunningly built & engineered, genuinely fun to drive and has all the necessary amenities to make the best memories on board. I have had the pleasure of being on hulls 4, 5 & 7, which is not bad considering only 11 have been built! Every time I go on board I’m reminded of the build quality, with the Nelson hull, blending exceptional sea-keeping and commercial heritage, with jaw-dropping beauty. It is still possible to order a new Dale Nelson 45 from the yard in Pembrokeshire, which will cost a pretty penny but will no doubt will be sensational.
Delivered in 2006 MORE MAGIC is hull 004 and is the sought-after two cabin version; fitted out in American Cherry gloss with a large forward double master cabin, with en-suite toilet and full height shower. The second guest cabin has two full length singles berth and is also en-suite. The spacious galley is set down and forward of the main saloon with natural light flowing in from the traditional oval port-lights. Fantastic panoramic visibility from the wheelhouse / saloon which is arguably where you will spend most of your time, along with the cockpit. Cleverly you can increase the seating space of the saloon, with a touch of a button the helm seats move forward revealing additional seating. The portside window on the aft bulkhead drops down electrically and with the stable door open there is perfect synergy between the indoor and outdoor space. The spacious cockpit is full beam with reassuringly high bulwarks with steps leading you forward to the wide side decks, all laid in teak of course. The bathing platform can be easily accessed easily through the opening stern door, where you have the option of securing a tender.
The owner has recently added a full cockpit enclosure, which can be used as a Bimini or easily removed entirely. MORE MAGIC is equipped for extensive cruising with heating, generator, inverter, Raymarine navigation, radar, dehumidifier, bow thruster & Samsung appliances for cooking. She has been maintained throughout her life by the team at Dales Yachts, with the current owners keeping her in Dartmouth where she has made many happy memories. Now in her second ownership and ashore at Berthon, in Lymington, she has only 700 hours clocked on her Yanmar 6CXM-GTE2 diesel engines and with a full service history and is ready to meet her new owners.
“When it comes to life on board the 45…it is hard to see where any improvements could be made.”
“If you’re impressed with Dale’s exceptional finish both above and below decks, don’t expect anything less from this yard’s belt, braces and generally bullet-proof engineering.”
