What an exceptionally versatile machine!
Designed by Andrew Wolstenholme with a fast, low-draft medium V-profiled hull, the Beach Lander can do it all. If you wish to carry your quad bike to your island, there is no mucking about. Drop that 1.75-meter-wide bow door down, and you have a proper James Bond-style loading ramp. If you want to take ten friends fishing for the weekend (and who does not want to do that?), load up your kit, file into the wheelhouse, and set off. Maybe you just fancy a barbecue on the beach on a balmy summer’s evening – then load up the forward deck with your favourite portable outdoor kitchen, sling some chairs in (and maybe an event shelter for our somewhat changeable weather), and nose up to your favourite haunts. Trim up the two Suzukis, drop the bow door, and casually saunter ashore—how utterly fab. Moreover, when it is time to pack up, it is a simple reverse operation under the useful glare of the twin hi-power floods on the front of the wheelhouse.
The beamy flare of the forward sections translates into a very stable platform at rest, and underway she is capable of fast operation, with excellent protection for passengers or crew—both on deck and in her wheelhouse. Her high side bulwarks are topped by substantial guardrails, and her massive lay-up is exhibited in the chunky moldings that support her hull topsides.
With sister ships in operation in every conceivable usage from sailing schools to highly adaptable super-yacht tenders, the Beach Lander is a veritable chameleon. She is also built like the proverbial and very well conceived and thought-out. With C-categorization for 12 persons on board, and customization available in terms of interior and deck layouts (there’s 14 meters of flat area there…), there are very few things that this machine cannot turn its hand to—be that commercial, private, or community-based.
This particular example has been used as a demonstrator, views extremely well, and is readily available for inspection.
This hull (no.2) was originally used as an open deck utility workboat, frequenting many leisure and commercial boat shows, as well as many magazine and newspaper articles. It has always been stored out of the water. After many hulls were built from this demonstration boat, we fitted a full wheelhouse in 2022 as another option for this incredibly versatile boat. Various options with this model include, but are not limited to, open deck, centre console/hardtop, side-opening door, modular superyacht tender, shortened hull length (29′ – 26′), and up to twin 350hp outboards (petrol or diesel), jet drive, and diesel outdrive.
