Sweden Yachts 38 – A Masterpiece. I am referring to the old marketing material from the well-known shipyard in Stenungsund. Sweden Yachts truly hit the mark with this model, as no fewer than 85 of the Sweden Yachts 38-footers left the yard during the production years of 1983-1990. It is a true sailing yacht with lines that still feel somewhat sporty today – classic lines that stand the test of time. The model was designed to be a great option for both racing and long-distance cruising. The interior has a distinct West Coast heritage and feels both sturdy and beautiful in timeless handcrafted mahogany. The boat exudes luxury, and the layout is well-thought-out, providing excellent comfort – something that will be especially appreciated on longer voyages.

The Sweden Yachts 38 comes with three cabins, providing ample space for up to 6 people. The saloon is very spacious with its double sofas and has room for additional guests. The cockpit is large, modern, and ergonomically designed, offering room for everyone and providing easy access to important functions from the helm. On the port side near the companionway, you’ll find a navigation area with a large table and a folding seat. On the opposite side, there is a spacious L-shaped galley equipped with everything necessary to prepare meals for the crew. In the bow, there is a toilet with entrances from both the saloon and the forward cabin, a feature that was later introduced in the successor, the 390.

ZENOBIA has had only 3 owners and has been in Källviken during the 2000s, where Fantasi Yachts has taken care of her—from service to updates and winter storage, all performed by skilled boat builders. This Sweden Yachts boasts an impressive level of equipment, and the list of updates is extensive. The engine was replaced in 2011 with a modern D2-55 from Volvo Penta, and in 2017, she received an entirely new teak deck, modern hatches, and new deck equipment.

ZENOBIA has been equipped to handle adventures on the high seas, with solar panels mounted on the davit’s upper side to handle the boat’s power supply. ZENOBIA was specified with the “Continental version” from the yard and was delivered with the taller rig, providing her with extra performance and a beautiful appearance. The boat is very well-maintained and in excellent condition. If you are looking for a bluewater cruiser with good performance and equipment, do not hesitate to schedule a viewing!

Owner’s Comments

We purchased ZENOBIA in early spring 2023 with the plan of embarking on an extended sailing journey. Just like the previous owners, I have continued the work of keeping her updated and well-maintained. I’ve installed a new bowsprit with a new anchor in the bow and added a new dinghy with an outboard engine to the equipment list. The boat has a tall rig and sails remarkably well. Unfortunately, we had to change our plans, and that’s why she is now for sale.
