RESILIENCE is a wonderful example of the enduringly popular and iconic Hinckley Bermuda 40 yawl. She has undergone numerous upgrades in recent years, including a new 55hp Yanmar engine installed in 2015 with low hours, new carbon Doyle sails added in 2021, a soda-blasted and faired bottom in 2021, new running rigging in 2021, an awlgripped hull in 2022, new canvas in 2022, and updated electronics in 2021. Her current owner has kept the boat in Martha’s Vineyard.

She also comes with a fully fitted winter boat cover.

From her roomy cockpit, the cozy cabin layout includes a vee berth forward, an enclosed head to port with a handheld shower, sink, and marine toilet, with lockers opposite. The saloon features two settees with pilot berths outboard and a drop-leaf centreline table. Aft of this is an L-shaped galley to port and a chart table to starboard, complete with a fridge underneath and an electrical panel outboard.

The settees are upholstered in Aruba Green Sunbrella, new in 2023 while the interior woodwork is mahogany, complemented by teak and holly floorboards.

On deck, the coamings and trim are varnished teak, and the deck features white gelcoat with contrasting light grey non-skid. The deck hardware has been upgraded to include a Harken mainsheet track, and the boat is equipped with electric primary winches. With her performance-oriented sail wardrobe and an asymmetric gennaker on a retractable pole, RESILIENCE has the potential to excel in a Bermuda race.

As these boats age, finding one in such upgraded condition as this is increasingly rare. The cost to take an average Bermuda 40 and bring it to this boat’s condition would be tens of thousands of dollars.

She is seriously for sale and well worth considering.

The Bermuda 40’s classic lines and legendary build quality are what led us to specifically search for a Mk3 yawl. RESILIENCE has all the desirable upgrades, and with her beautiful black sails, she is a relative speed demon! Our family plans have changed, which is the reason we are selling her.
