Broker’s Comments

Now, this is an extraordinarily accomplished flybridge motor yacht. Meet the Storebro Grand Series 62, AVANTI.

Built by the superb craftsmen of the Storebro Bruks AB shipyard in Vimmerby, Sweden, to a design by renowned Argentinian naval architect German Frers, this is a highly functional and expertly finished conception.

Storebro Bruks AB’s long heritage of building high-quality vessels for both commercial and recreational use since 1965 is evident throughout AVANTI – the last in the Grand Series line. Completed in 2001, she was re-engined in 2023 to provide significantly more efficient operation than her original twin Scania diesels. She is professionally maintained under current ownership and kept ashore in a dry shed during the winter months.

The 62 was available with either waterjet or shaft-drive propulsion (with a vee-drive arrangement on the shaft version), and its machinery space is highly accessible and beautifully laid out. The engine mounts are set on a steel skeleton to transfer vibration away from the accommodation areas.

Recent refinements include the installation of twin inverters, accompanied by new batteries, to support onboard power loads, along with modern Simrad plotting and navigational hardware and a refresh of the exterior lighting.

Her interior condition is a testament to the exceptional materials and craftsmanship of her original builders. Storebro’s signature satin-varnished mahogany panelling is rich and lustrous, creating an opulent yet warm atmosphere while preserving the essence of a true little ship.

The saloon features a deep blue plush fabric sofa and matching chairs, complemented by a large centrepiece table, ample storage, and direct access to the aft cockpit. Moving forward to the galley level, a set of stairs leads to the port side of the expansive flybridge, while the galley sits to starboard—offering generous worktop space, abundant storage, and a full suite of high-quality appliances.

The dinette, positioned between the flybridge stairs, provides comfortable seating for three at an oval table with impressive views. To starboard, the main helm station features two chairs, a pantographing access door to the side deck, and an upholstered console with a commanding position.

The forward accommodation is accessed via a beautifully mahogany-lined sweeping companionway stair. The full-beam master cabin is located aft, accessible through a private entrance. The floor level is lowered to provide excellent headroom throughout, and the centreline berth is flanked by the heads and shower areas to port (which can be cleverly screened off) and a dressing sofa with a vanity desk to starboard. The cabin offers ample storage for the owner’s clothing, linens, and personal effects, along with a fitted A/V unit and generous floor space.

Moving forward toward the bow, the port guest cabin is ensuite and features a smart scissor-action twin berth. Opposite, the utility area provides additional storage, a washing machine, and easy access to the inverters and chargers. The access corridor continues forward, offering day head access to the heads and shower before leading to the VIP cabin.

The bow cabin is exceptionally practical, featuring excellent ventilation, generous stowage, ample hanging space, and a large vee-format berth—all finished to a standard rarely seen in a “production” motor yacht.

That covers the interior—but what about the hull? The bow tells the story here, with a monumentally sharp stem profile designed to carve through the waves effortlessly. This boat is built to eat up sea miles.

Storebro is renowned for its incredibly stiff and durable lay-up, and the 62 is no exception. Beneath the waterline, the hull features a monolithic single laminate, transitioning into foam sandwich topsides for added strength and efficiency. The flybridge and mast are moulded from weight-saving pre-preg carbon fibre and epoxy, ensuring both structural integrity and performance.
