Broker’s Comments

This like-new Moody DS41 was first delivered in May 2022 and has been used for coastal family sailing between Boston and Newport for 4 summers. It is really nicely equipped with top-of-the-line black Quantum sails, electric in-mast furling, electric genoa furling, self-tacking jib, electric winches, a bow thruster, air conditioning, and an extra fridge in the spacious pantry below the galley.

LYDIA’s interior was built with custom Canadian Chestnut finish, black Corian countertops, Devon graphite upholstery, full exterior cushions in blue Sunbrella (new in 2024), including the foredeck sunbed and forward sunset cocktail seats. The interior follows the Moody Decksaloon signature design, which is light, bright, and airy, featuring a 2-cabin layout with a spacious centreline master bed and a guest cabin with 2 single beds. There are two toilet/shower compartments with electric fresh water heads. The deck saloon offers excellent visibility, and an electric high/low table that can convert into an extra double berth. Next to the galley is a forward-facing chart table. The stereo system is a Sonos unit with 4 speakers.

On deck, there is a low maintenance scrubbed-effect Flexiteek decking , black GRP wheels, a full Raymarine package with a plotter at each pedestal, autopilot with remote control, a camera on the mast aimed at the bow, a Wi-Fi extender, radar, and stainless Simpson davits on the transom. There is plenty of storage with two large cockpit lockers, a lazarette, and a bow locker forward. The yacht is powered by the optional large 80hp Yanmar diesel with a saildrive and electric shifter.

• Last winter the boat underwent a significant upgrade with the following additions at about a $100 000 cost, including:

Owner’s Comments

The Moody DS41 is our dreamboat, and upon retirement, we were lucky enough to realise this dream. After purchasing the yacht last fall, we went through the boat from stem to stern and added a lot of upgrades so that we could spend extended time on board, using her as our summer home. We have now purchased a waterfront home, and so our sailing plans and needs have changed.
