This super-clean 2017 Axopar 28 Cabin perfectly showcases why the Axopar brand has dominated its market sector. The brilliantly designed interior offers comfortable family seating under way, along with versatile four-berth accommodation for overnight stays. Two large sliding doors and a full-length opening roof provide the best of both worlds—rain or shine—while the forward-raked windscreen ensures all-weather capability. Demisters and vents from the Webasto cabin heating system make colder days on the water more enjoyable, making XPLORA a truly all-weather proposition.

The separate heads are smartly designed, featuring private access from the foredeck, a marine WC, and a sink. It’s a clever solution that also provides additional storage atop the forward deck lockers when needed. As with all Axopar designs, it’s well thought-out, uncluttered, and exceptionally practical.

Her decks are exceptionally safe, featuring all-round grab rails and additional fitted fendering to make berthing effortless. The foredeck serves as both a practical working area and a versatile space, with a table that converts into a sun pad or an al fresco dining area. The aft cabin moulding includes a set of cushions that create a secluded sun pad. Rarely for a boat of this type, she has been kept ashore on an Aqua Dock dry-berth—so she has never been antifouled—and she is presented in excellent condition.

Other notable features in her specification include the upgraded Fusion audio system, a powerful bow thruster, a Garmin navigation setup with radar, and the practical yet stylish Silvertex Meteor upholstery upgrade package.

As you’d expect, performance from the single 300HP Mercury is brisk—delivering mid-40-knot speeds, responsive steering, and early planing, thanks to the deeply vee’d, twin air-step hull. The ride remains dry, with spray deflected by the moulded spray rails, while the boat stays quiet and composed under way. The outboard is safeguarded by a sturdy aft frame with a towing hook, and with no-nonsense stainless steel deck equipment, she looks clean, modern, and undeniably fit for purpose.

We’ve absolutely loved owning her and have had some of our best and most memorable family and friends’ moments with her. Sadly, we simply don’t have enough time available at present to warrant keeping her; I’m pretty sure she won’t be the last Axopar we own!
