Hanse 630e, VIVENDI is a handsome Judel/Vrolijk design from 2012. Set up for easy, fast, and powerful cruising, with a great layout for family living and a smart gun metal topsides livery. She has been very well updated and maintained by her current owners to whom she has given enormous pleasure. Recent works include a full review of the rig and a complete upgrade of the entire electronics package.

Although VIVENDI has cruised extensively in the Mediterranean and Caribbean, she has never crossed an ocean and is in sparkling shape for her age.

VIVENDI offers the scope for easy local cruising with long legs and the potential to go much further.

Owner’s Comments

Over the years, as a Canadian family with two growing daughters, we expanded our sailing adventures beyond the short local season in Canada to base our yacht in the Caribbean. Although our prior yachts eventually reached a size of 50 feet, even at this scale the yacht we owned before we bought Hanse 630e, VIVENDI was still lacking some of the amenities we needed. Hence, the search was on for our ultimate yacht, and this was the search criteria.

• Ease of handling by a short crew and ability to maintain one-crew watchkeeping. This meant remote control electric winches, push bottom sail handling, easy reefing and sail storage, optimized helm, and sail control ergonomics and so on.
• Attractive sailing characteristics: speed, a yacht that is a ‘joy to helm,’ ‘pointing ability.’
• Mod Cons: generator, watermaker, generous refrigeration/freezer capacity, ample availability of electric power, air-con, passarelle, and full warm water specification.
• Ability to accommodate a sizeable tender.
• Expansive storage space, ideally a full stern garage.
• Enduring build quality.Fortunately, VIVENDI both met and surpassed all these selection criteria. We purchased her in 2017, and she was barely used due to the previous owner´s sudden ill health. She was based in Palma de Mallorca. We spent two summers sailing in the Balearics and along the coast of France and Italy as well as Sardinia and Corsica.

Whilst VIVENDI was based in Mallorca, we carried out an extensive upgrade project outside the sailing season. In the autumn of 2018, we had her shipped to the Caribbean for a few winter seasons, storing her in Grenada in a yard in the summers.

In March 2020, during one of our regular visits to VIVDENDI, the world stopped because of Covid 19. Instead of returning home, we decided to stay onboard for the following 6 months – which turned out to be an amazing experience. After briefly going back to Canada, as the second Covid wave started to take hold, we decided to return to VIVENDI and enjoyed a further 9 months onboard. This was to be the defining period of our ownership experience. In 2023, we relocated to Europe and once again shipped VIVENDI across the Atlantic back to her home waters of the Western Mediterranean where she is now based.

In addition to the upgrades and updates outlined in a separate summary which is available on request, all the regular maintenance and inspections have been rigorously carried out, such as oil and filter changes, watermaker treatments, furling and winch servicing, shaft re-alignment, rig NDT inspections, anode replacements and extensive cosmetic maintenance. Out of season VIVENDI has always been stored ashore with a full deck fitted cover.

We love how the yacht looks, how she sails and how many superyacht features are found aboard VIVENDI. She delivers way more than you would expect from a 63-footer and is very flexible. She can be used for a short-crewed day sail – courtesy of stress-free docking (using her powerful bow and stern thrusters and ground line bow winch) as well as the ease of sail setting and handling (push button in-mast main and electric headsails and all remote controlled electric winches) OR used to cruise onboard for many months without suffering ‘cabin fever’ or compromising on any creature comforts due to her extensive amenities.

Now, unfortunately, the family has grown up and our daughters are now in their 20s with additional demands on their schedules limiting the time for holidays aboard VIVENDI. She is ready for a new owner to realize the privilege of the adventures that she brings. However, our family will always have a place for VIVENDI in our hearts.
