We have just released our latest Berthon Winter Collection, showcasing a selection from our second-hand brokerage fleet, including motor yachts, cruising yachts, and performance yachts, both new and preowned. Top 7 Yachts Sale Insights

We present to you our final top 7 yacht market insights for 2023 as we gallop towards Christmas and then into 2024.

1. Our office in Sweden has been bustling with inquiries and visits right up until the holidays, primarily from Europeans, including a large percentage of British buyers. All of them appreciate the excellent condition and quality of the yachts offered.
2. The British market is shifting as more yacht buyers embrace European yachting and forsake local cruising in the UK in favor of purchasing European VAT-paid yachts and using them there. They are aware that they will have a larger aftermarket to sell into when they decide to change yachts. Schengen rules are to be observed but can be managed.
3. The large yacht market is quiet in the Mediterranean. We are not witnessing significant price drops, as the market is moving very slowly. Yachts that are selling are doing so at expected price points. While there are plenty of yacht inspections, qualified buyers are not in a hurry to commit at the moment but are keenly following the market.
4. The American market has slowed as clients process the implications of significantly higher interest rates and how this affects their yachting and other life plans.
5. Stock levels, particularly in the production markets, are rising, and dealers are holding significant numbers of yachts ready for use in the 2024 season.
6. There is significant currency movement between the € and the US$, and this is currently slowing immediate closings.
7. The interest in yacht purchase remains high, although, as ever at this time of year, the lure of the party season and the call of the ski slope will slow the market until it is reawakened by boot Düsseldorf (Europe’s largest indoor boat show), which opens on 20th January – we can’t wait!

Closed Christmas Day & Boxing Day – 25th & 26th December 2023. The light fades in the UK after 15.30 so yacht inspections are best accomplished in the morning or early afternoon.
