Top 6 Yachts Sale Insights for December 2024

The last Market Insights for 2024 are here, and the Berthon Team is preparing for the holiday season while also planning for 2025 and the first major event in our annual calendar: boot Düsseldorf in January.

1. There is unusually high market activity across all our territories as the year comes to a close, with more inspections, offers, and contracts than usual. We already have several inspections booked for the holiday period.
2. In Sweden, our client base is typically international, spanning both sides of the Atlantic. However, we are now seeing a pleasing increase in domestic activity from Swedish buyers.
3. The Düsseldorf Boat Show is a key event in the industry. This year, some manufacturers, including Hanse/Moody, are not attending, and the German yacht market remains slow. As a result, we anticipate a stronger international presence at the event than usual in 2025.
4. The Italian market is thriving, with a significant number of Italian buyers and many Eastern European yachtsmen actively purchasing in this region.
5. Our enquiry rate is low, and the majority of current sales are coming from clients with whom we have been working for several months, who have now decided to finalize their plans.
6. We expect to see some shifts in location within the Mediterranean, as berth and ancillary prices in Palma, along with ongoing works on the Paseo, push mid-range yachts (50 to 90 feet) to the Spanish mainland, while super and mega yachts continue to berth and refit on the island.
