October 2023 – An Exceptionally Busy Month Listing and Selling Brokerage Yachts

All of our offices are exceptionally busy, actively listing and selling brokerage yachts. The Berthon brokerage fleet has welcomed excellent new additions, spanning sailing yachts such as bluewater, coastal, and performance vessels, as well as motor yachts, including performance, semi-displacement, and explorer yachts. We provide granular specifications, imagery, videos, and, of course, viewing opportunities to assist you in your search for the perfect yacht.

Berthon USA just wrapped up the autumn boat show season at the Annapolis Sailboat Show, showing the impressive Moody DS54  SOUTHERN CROSS and Solaris 44 TRADECRAFT. Both yachts generated significant interest at the Show, leading to the signing of one new sales contract, with negotiations in progress for several more.

Benchmark Bluewater Cruisers – A Brief History of Discovery Yachts | The Discovery Shipyard closed its doors in 2021. However, the enduring legacy of their renowned bluewater cruising fleet continues to thrive, enjoying widespread popularity in the brokerage market today. We delve into the history of Discovery and explain how Berthon has emerged as the go-to experts on pre-loved Discovery yachts.

Chris Hills – Our Man in Sydney, Australia | Chris Hills, owner of ‘Your Boat Manager’, is our go to person in Sydney, Australia, enabling us to effectively market yachts for clients cruising in the Southern Hemisphere. A longstanding friend of Berthon and a Lymington native, we provide an insight into his background and explain how Chris and his business ‘YBM’ are helping Berthon today.

Quality Swedish Craftsmanship – A Brief History of Najad Yachts | Since 1971, Najad Yachts in Henån, Sweden, has been producing a range of high quality cruising yachts that combine reliable sailing performance with timeless design. The strong bond between Najad and Berthon began in 2005 when US broker Alan Baines got involved with the brand. This involvement eventually led to the formation of Berthon USA in 2010. Berthon Scandinavia’s MD, Magnus Kullberg, worked at Najad for 11 years before transitioning into yacht brokerage and becoming part of the Berthon team in February 2020. Najad yachts remain a firm favourite with our brokers across all offices, and they have an in-depth understanding of these yachts.

Berthon Charts the Evolution of Dashew Offshore and the FPB (Functional Power Boat) Fleet | The last word in bluewater explorers, FPBs are renowned for their exceptional seakeeping abilities and vast range. We chart the evolution of the fleet and explain the future now that the FPB programme is closed. As long-time friends of Steve and Linda Dashew, Berthon have a wealth of experience in the sale and purchase of these extraordinary boats, and we are privileged to be the custodians of the FPB archives and to host the Dashew SetSail website.

One of the last of the iconic Discovery 55s, FLORENCE OF DART is for sale | Take a tour aboard with her new sales video. She is one of the last of the 55s to splash. From 2017, she has been meticulously maintained to the highest standards by her original and experienced owner. With a Mark II interior layout in oak, a fantastic bluewater spec, and fresh Alexseal topsides livery from 2021, Discovery 55 FLORENCE OF DART is gleaming and ready for more adventures.

Sweden Yachts 50, PAPER MOON is for sale | With timeless lines by Peter Norlin and Jens Ostmann, she is bursting with 90’s glamour and comes with a recent and substantial refit. The long list of improvements include a new Yanmar 110 engine, new Flexiteak deck, new standing rigging and for 2022 a wardrobe of new North Sails. She is totally plug and play!

Discovery 55, TICKETEEBOO is for sale | You can now admire TICKETEEBOO on video. From 2009, she is still in her original ownership and has been thoughtfully maintained through life. Sporting a dark blue Discovery livery, a lovely cherry interior and a practical anodised spar that is easy to look after. TICKETEEBOO is set up for two-handed world cruising and is ready for more oceans.
