TEXA, X-Yachts 442 is for sale

TEXA has been thoroughly enjoyed by her current owner who bought her in 2014. He was looking for a yacht which he could cruise with family but which could also take part in the odd Solent and cross Channel race competitively, all with a bit of comfort. TEXA has certainly ticked all these boxes and she has been treated well for doing so. She is only being sold to make way for a bigger bluewater cruiser so that the growing family can fit on board.

TEXA has enjoyed the Berthon treatment since she arrived in Lymington in 2014. The first big tick item that was replaced on her was the teak deck in 2015, which is still in fantastic condition. She also had a new rudder in 2015 and of course a full suite of racing and cruising sails in 2014/15. Her racing sails have been sparingly used and are still in great condition. More recently in 2019 she had a brand new Yanmar 57hp engine fitted along with a shiny new coat of blue hull paint. The new Yanmar is showing a grand total of only 42 hours.

We think TEXA would be a great yacht for a couple looking to head off on a bit of an adventure; she sails at a great speed yet has comfortable room below decks. Equally she could carry on doing what she has been for the last 6 years and makes a very comfortable local or cross channel cruiser. In her previous ownership she was used as a Med cruising yacht so the possibilities are endless!

She is comfortable below decks with an ensuite forepeak and two good sized aft cabins with a shared good sized day head. Great sized linear galley opposite her roomy saloon allow you to cater for lots of hungry and thirsty sailors and family alike.

The X-442 was built by X Yachts for over 10 years with 127 of them being built. The model proved to be very popular and was the start of a new era of performance cruiser. She was built to a very high standard and build quality as all X-Yachts are. The design moto was to create a yacht which was first and foremost a truly seaworthy, modern cruising yacht which was also good looking and fast.

TEXA is ashore in Lymington and available for a live video viewing during the current lockdown period. Once restrictions are lifted she will be available for in the flesh viewings with safety precautions in place.
