Introduced in 1998 as the successor to the 36 Grand Mistral, the 37 Grand Mistral marked a notable evolution by adding 5 inches to its sleek design. The 37 Grand Mistral also offered both open and hardtop versions right from its debut, a pioneering move during a time when hardtop sports cruisers were a rare find, yet very much needed in Northern waters.
The 37 Grand Mistral’s hardtop, with its stylish and streamlined aesthetics, boasts a sunroof that covers a third of the roof space. The ergonomics of the helm are meticulously designed, ensuring optimal comfort whether seated or standing, when helming.
The open and hardtop both proved to be equally popular with the open being a very flexible option for warmer climates with the possibility of a full canvas enclosure but also the chance to feel the wind in your hair.
Breaking the mould for all-weather, high-speed passage-making, the 37 Grand Mistral’s hull was designed by Hans J. Johnsen, and as with all Windys, it stands out for its exceptional performance. The hulls, characterized by their forgiving nature in rough seas, precision, ease of handling and robust construction, grant the driver unparalleled control and confidence. This combination of features contributes to the boat’s reputation as a remarkable cruiser over its impressive 13-year build program.
The Windy 37 Grand Mistral is often hailed as the epitome of an ideal family cruiser, thanks to its versatile accommodation, top-tier build quality and superb handling in various water conditions. The 37 Grand Mistral’s success can be attributed to its ability to strike a harmonious balance between accommodating family needs, showcasing impeccable craftsmanship and offering a delightful experience navigating through the water. Whether it is the spacious interior, the sturdy construction or the seamless manoeuvrability, the 37 Grand Mistral has proven its mettle over the years. The design is a true standout in the world of family cruising; still incredibly popular on the brokerage market and continuing to display timeless good looks.
