Windy SR26

The Windy SR26 is the smallest of Sweden’s Windy Yacht Projects range and was conceived as a sleek yacht tender; with styling by Harrison Eidsgaard and build and engineering by Windy Boats, to offer versatility in seating and deck layout.

Her well-proven Geir Arnestad-drawn deep-vee hull design ensures both passenger comfort and protection under way, with deep bulwarks, wrap-around cockpit cushions and further seating towards her transom. Her foredeck is dressed in teak, with pop-up low profile stainless steel cleats, and the through-stem anchor launch and retrieval mechanism and electric windlass are hidden from view to maintain a clean line and ensure maximum safety for passengers in the bows area.

An optional bimini canvas top can be rigged to provide shade and protection to her crew & guests and moulded side steps with teak treads ensure that boarding and disembarking are simple and safe. Durable rubber fendering encircles the hull for ease of coming alongside and protects the tender during transfers, highlighting Windy’s expertise in delivering a functional craft, as well as a beautiful one. So you will find plenty of storage beneath her seating, good handholds and grabrails about her cockpit and all this on a superbly capable deep-vee hull.

She can of course be dressed to match her mother ship, with a plethora of colours for hull and a myriad of cockpit upholstery finishes available. With superyacht tender duties in mind (and limited garage space available), the Windy SR26 has a cleverly engineered offset console, which can fold to reduce storage clearance height to only 1.51 metres.

Engine options on the Windy SR26 include the punchy Yanmar 6BY 260HP inboard diesel and the smooth Volvo Penta D3-220hp diesel unit, with the larger options topping out at a maximum speed of c. 42 knots with 9 guests on board. She carries 200L of fuel on board, her aft engine bay is easily accessible for maintenance (yet very well insulated for quiet operation under way and maximum comfort on board).

As you would expect from a Windy, the level of finish from the mirror-gloss of her hull surface to the structural stringers in her engine room is first-class – using the highest quality materials and being built by highly professional and experienced boat-builders, who understand and value the superior performance of these craft. Windy have led the field in their development of resin-transfer moulding technologies – giving a stiff, clean and precise finish to all moulded components, along with a welcome reduction in weight and investment in filtration and clean working practices ensures less environmental impact during production.
