Broker’s Comments

Sixty years ago, Michel Dufour founded his shipyard in La Rochelle, France. Over the years, many popular sailboat models have left the yard, all with a design ahead of their time. The Dufour 445 Grand’Large, as the name suggests, embodies all the elegance, dynamism, and comfort of the Grand’Large series. Designed for fast offshore cruising, the 445 integrates the latest in technical developments for cruising and performance from Dufour Yachts.

A large open cockpit with dual wheels welcomes you aboard, providing not only good passage but also an unbeatable view of the deck. The cockpit features a fixed table and a motorized foldable bathing platform, providing everything you need to enjoy the archipelago. This platform can be operated with a button or remote control. With German sheeting, electric winches, and ergonomic cockpit design, there are few disruptions to life on board, making the yacht safe for the helmsman to focus on navigation and boat handling. At the bow, there is a large sail locker that also accommodates fenders and other equipment.

Below deck, a bright saloon welcomes you, thanks to the hull windows, large deck hatches, and side windows in the superstructure. To starboard at the entrance, there is a navigation area with all necessary equipment, including AIS and radar. Moving forward, you are greeted by the longitudinal galley, full of options that make life on board easy. There is even a wine cellar hidden under the floorboards. On the port side, there is a large sofa with a table that can be lowered for additional overnight guests. The master cabin is located at the bow with a large centerline double bed, wardrobes, and plenty of storage space. Of course, there is also a toilet and a separate shower area. The aft features two asymmetrical cabins, with the larger one on the port side having its own entrance to the second bathroom.

AITUTAKI is still sailing with her first owner and has always been meticulously maintained by Gåshaga Marina in Stockholm. Her experienced owner made several modifications and improvements during the build process, many of which have become standard at the French yard. In addition to smart solutions, she has been equipped with a retractable bow thruster, retractable bowsprit for the Code 1 sail, teak deck, electric toilets, an updated 9” plotter, and more. The owner describes this boat as the perfect floating summer house, with four rooms and a kitchen, a perfect outdoor area, and an unbeatable spa section with salty baths. Combine this with excellent sailing performance.

Owner’s Comments

We have owned this boat for 12 years and have enjoyed sailing in the Baltic Sea immensely. The boat has excellent sailing performance and is very fast. The electric equipment makes her easy to sail, and you have a very good view ahead. Two pedestals with plotters make navigation simple, and with radar and a life raft on board, you feel safe.

The boat offers plenty of space both inside and outside and is very comfortable. We have enjoyed inviting family and friends, as there are up to 8 berths, including 2 additional ones in the saloon. The cockpit is very spacious and appreciated by everyone.

During the winter, we have stored and maintained the boat at a shipyard to keep her in good condition.
