The Hallberg-Rassy 44 is fast becoming the yard’s most popular model and stepping on-board CARIOCA II, it is clear to see why. The designers, German Frers, have introduced features such as two rudder blades, a fixed bowsprit and a hull with a pronounced wedge shape. The wide stern allows for excellent downwind performance, also providing volume and space for an exceptionally large, luxurious owner’s cabin.

On deck, the powerful three-spreader mast provides plenty of speed when needed, but the yacht is well natured and stiff to sail. Her Elvstrøm electric in-mast sail and electric furling genoa allow easy sail handling with all lines leading into the cockpit. For docking, the Sleipner docking system, with bow and stern thrusters and dockside hold, are perfect for manoeuvring and berthing by a small crew, even in tight marinas. The cockpit is an extremely safe place to be in all weather – in classic Hallerg-Rassy style. There is a fixed windscreen and sprayhood with two different full cockpit cover options when needed.

Down below, she feels as new throughout and has a tastefully furnished interior with ambient lighting and custom light upholstery. Forward you have a double berth with Pullman bunk layout. Aft you will find a large owner’s cabin with a centre double berth and an en-suite head with walk in shower. The saloon offers plenty of entertaining space and to port the linear galley allows for plenty of space to cook.

Hallberg-Rassy 44, CARIOCA II has been exceptionally well maintained and is as close to a new Hallberg-Rassey 44 as is possible. She offers an extensive bluewater specification including air-conditioning, electric furling systems for mainsail and genoa, electric Revo winches, washing machine & dishwasher, full RAYMARINE navigation and ELVSTRØM EPEX sails plus much more.

CARIOCA II has served me incredibly well. She offers faultless, safe, but enjoyable sailing in all conditions. She has a full suite of sails to allow upwind and downwind sailing in all conditions. The twin rudders really dig in for superb control. She’s incredibly comfortable to live on board and is equipped with all mod cons.
