The Hallberg-Rassy 44 is fast becoming the yard’s most popular model and stepping on-board SHEARWATER it is clear to see why. The designers German Frers have introduced features such as two rudder blades, a fixed bowsprit and a hull with a pronounced wedge shape. The wide stern allows for excellent downwind performance, also providing volume and space for an exceptionally large, luxurious owner’s cabin.

On deck, the powerful three-spreader mast provides plenty of speed when needed, but the yacht is well natured and stiff to sail. Her Elvström electric in-mast sail and electric furling genoa allow easy sail handling with all lines leading into the cockpit. The cockpit is an extremely safe place to be in all weather – in classic Hallberg-Rassy style. There is a fixed windscreen and to give extra protection, a hardtop dodger with full cockpit cover option when needed.

Down below, she feels as new throughout and has a tastefully furnished interior with ambient lighting and light upholstery. SHEARWATER has the three-cabin layout, giving guests privacy in two cabins forward. Aft you will find a large owner’s cabin with a centre double berth and an en-suite head with walk in shower. The saloon offers plenty of entertaining space with sofas to port & starboard, and to port the linear galley allows for plenty of space to cook.

Hallberg-Rassy 44, SHEARWATER has very been lightly sailed since new and has been exceptionally well maintained. She offers an extensive specification including electric furling systems for mainsail and genoa, electric winches, RAYMARINE navigation and ELVSTRÖM EPEX sails incl. Fatfurl mainsail plus much more.

Owner’s Comments

We’ve had such a wonderful time owning SHEARWATER these last 5 years since inception. She’s been lightly sailed around the Solent and has been our family’s go-to for weekends and holidays, whether a day trip to Yarmouth or for longer excursions through The Needles to Poole Harbour and beyond.

SHEARWATER truly offers the best of both worlds; she’s fast and comfortable whether you’re cruising or racing, and she’s incredibly cosy and luxurious when moored in the marina.

One feature we have loved the most is the hard-top and its full cockpit cover, which has provided an invaluable extra room in all seasons to dine and relax, as well as superb shelter when sailing in less clement weather!

We are selling her now as we are looking for new land-based adventures with a new holiday house in Scotland, so whilst we are very sad to see her go, we know that her best is yet to come with a new owner.
