We know the Oyster 82, BILL AND ME, well. Launched in 2009 and originally named RIVENDELL, she is hull #012 of the Oyster 82 series, all of which have proven to be exceptional bluewater cruising yachts, offering great accommodation for guests and well-designed crew quarters.

Bought by her current owners through Berthon at the beginning of 2022, she was sailed to the UK for a full rig repaint and rod rigging replacement. Her extensive refit at that time included replacement front sails, as well as a full update of all her interior and exterior systems to prepare her for her owners’ cruising programme. She has been captain-maintained throughout her life. We have a full list of the work carried out to BILL AND ME during the 2022/23 refit, at a cost of over €400,000 as well as a copy of her onboard maintenance file.

BILL AND ME features distinctive orange carbon spars, and with a fully battened mainsail, she delivers excellent performance, keeping weight low and benefiting from automated sail-handling systems.

Down below, she features a fantastic owners’ stateroom and two further en-suite guest cabins, all aft, with ample crew accommodation forward. Her deck saloon is light, bright, and open to a lower saloon and galley, creating a spacious and practical feel.

BILL AND ME’s cruising programme is now completed, and she is being offered for sale at a very competitive price and in full cruising trim.

Owner’s Comments

My voyage with BILL AND ME began in early 2022 with a trouble-free cruising programme from Gibraltar to Malta, where she paid her European VAT and then to Genoa. This cruise took up a good part of Summer 2022.

She then sailed to the UK for refit, and to repair some breakages and to improve her aesthetically. The refit period was complete in May 2023 and our first stop was Cornwall before heading to the Mediterranean and onwards to Corfu. We remained in the lovely cruising grounds of Greece until the end of September when BILL AND ME sailed back to the UK with her crew. During that season she performed faultlessly for what was a particularly hot summer, apart from the saloon air conditioning which has now been replaced.

The previous BILL AND ME was an Oyster 72 which we and the crew also had great fun with, sailing in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. The 82 was a step up in size, with greater beam and with a much gentler motion in rough weather. The current BILL AND ME has been a great success. Unfortunately, age is not on my side, and I am not as mobile as I was. Therefore, yachting has become more difficult for me which is why she has now come to the market.
