BRUISER is a late (2011-build) Seaward 35 and is in quite stunning condition.
She has the aft cockpit layout (without the optional exterior helm console) and looks 100% fit for purpose. Her helm and navigator are cosseted by a pair of blue leather KAB suspension helm seats, full Alcantara side and head linings, smart blue wheelhouse fabric upholstery, neutral Grey Avonite galley worktops, and perfectly-finished oak veneered cabinetry.
At the helm, command is via morse mechanical throttles, offering relaxed, precise control of her twin Yanmar 6LPA-STP2 315hp diesels. As per her pilot heritage, she sports a double band of rubber D-fendering, and her decks are laid with hard-wearing grey diamond Treadmaster. She is comprehensively equipped for offshore navigation, with a C-120W colour plotter interfaced to an aft-facing camera, recent Raymarine Autopilot control head, closed array radar scanner, Cyclops radar enhancer and anemometer rigged on her substantial, white-painted mast.
BRUISER has evidently been cherished by her three Owners from new, and she was originally specified to an exacting level of fit-out (including Eberspacher Hydronic heating, digital tank level indication and the extremely reliable choice of twin Yanmar 315hp motorisation. Her second Owners then commissioned a new-build Seaward 42, and her current Owners enjoyed a superb long (1500Nm) cruise up from her home port of Plymouth, through the Irish Sea, via Dublin and Belfast, and across to Craobh Haven, where she was based to allow extensive passage-making around the Western Isles, prior to returning home via Milford Haven. She has never missed a beat.
For any true seaman this hull is simply unbeatable, and with new safety kit during 2023 to enable a hassle and worry-free cruise to Scotland, she is a seriously well-equipped craft for UK, cross-Channel, Baltic or Nordic cruising in complete comfort and safety – even when the seas cut up a little rougher than ideal. Renowned for its sea-keeping capabilities. She is now fitted with a custom bathing platform to allow easier access astern (and from the water), and a new Navy Blue canvas aft canopy is on order and will be supplied at point of sale to her new custodians.
Put simply – you will not find better.
My wife and I have enjoyed sailing for many years and purchased our first motor boat, a Seaward 29 in 2012.
We then wanted more space for family and grandchildren to visit and purchased BRUISER, a Seaward 35 in 2015. She is a wonderful boat and much admired wherever she goes. BRUISER is incredibly sure footed and comfortable underway and equally at home maneuvering safely around crowded harbours and anchorages. Sailing her single handed is very easy.
We have decided to sell BRUISER now only as we are retiring from boating.
