PERIDOT is a fantastic example of the Southerly 110. Over her current ownership she has been meticulously well maintained and when purchasing her the owner did many upgrades/mini re-fit bringing the boat up to modern standards.

With an excellent layout below, the new upholstery completing the stunning wooden finish, she really does look as good on the inside as she does on the outside. With her deep draft allowing for a fantastic offshore cruising performance and her shallow draft option allowing for coastal and inland cruising she truly is one terrifically versatile yacht.

Owner’s Comments

I purchased PERIDOT in 2019 from Northshore, having previously owned a Najad 400 for 12 years. That boat took us on offshore adventures to Norway, the Hebrides, and across the Mediterranean. I was now looking for a boat built to similarly high standards for UK and French waters. What attracted me to the model was not only the lifting keel technology, which has worked faultlessly, but also the deck saloon design, which provides a great sense of space and the ability to enjoy great views, even when the weather is not great.

During my ownership, I have taken PERIDOT to the Channel Islands, Brittany, the West Country, and the Isles of Scilly. I have also explored rivers like the Helford and Dart to their tidal heads. The lifting keel and the ability to take ground have often allowed me to find anchor spots where conventional yachts cannot. In my view, it would be the perfect boat to take to the Baltic, Holland, or on a round Britain trip, enabling access to many small harbours.

As a sailing boat, it is surprisingly agile, and with its twin rudders, it tracks very well to windward. However, like most modern fractional-rigged yachts with a self-tacking jib, it is less effective downwind in lighter airs, which is why I chose to add a Code 0 sail on a separate furler.

So, why am I selling a boat that has been so extensively refitted? Quite simply, most of my long-term friends who have crewed with me over many years are hanging up their sailing kits, and the time is right to move to a power boat.
