Sweden Yachts 42, FANDANGO

Broker’s Comments

At the risk of repeating myself, the Sweden Yachts 42 is one of my favourite performance cruising yachts. With her sweet lines, deck arrangement, and the sheer level of fit-out below decks, she is an extremely hard act to follow. FANDANGO is a particularly good example. I know her well, having previously brokered her sale. She has consistently enjoyed good ownership and benefited from constant TLC and upgrading along the way. Her current custodian is no exception and recent years have seen consistent spending on both big-ticket items and lots of behind-the-scenes maintenance, which is every bit as important- if not more so. Electronics, batteries, sails, re-caulking, upholstery, rigging, and plumbing- to give a few examples, are indicative of a well-loved yacht.

She is ideally placed to begin a Mediterranean adventure, she could, however, return to the UK given her VAT status.

Owner’s Comments

We have owned FANDANGO since 2018. Initially based out of Oban, she was used for extensive cruising around Scotland’s west coast and islands. In 2022, we sailed her to Valencia to access the wonderful cruising around the Balearic Islands.

She has proven to be a very seaworthy, dependable, comfortable, and good-looking yacht, capable of fast passage times (including two consecutive 200nm days crossing Biscay from Kinsale to Finisterre).

Throughout our ownership, she has undergone significant refurbishment and upgrading both internally and externally and is currently in excellent, well-equipped “sail away” condition.

We are selling her as we have an (unexpected) opportunity to invest in a yacht charter business with a Spanish friend and she is far too beautiful a yacht to be rented out for charter use!
