ECOVER OF SKAGEN was famous as Mike Golding’s winning Challenge 67’ GROUP 4, and had a very illustrious career with the Challenge Business where she successfully competed against her hull sisters, one design racing around the globe, against prevailing winds and currents. In her second life underwent a major rebuild at Danish Yacht in Skagen, Denmark launching in summer 2009. Today she is virtually unrecognisable as a Challenge Yacht and is a 3 guest + 1 crew cabin luxury cruising yacht, fitted out to a high standard. The deck has been hand laid in teak and all deck gear replaced. Electrical, hydraulic and plumbing has all been replaced throughout. She has a carbon spar and has a superyacht finish above and belowdecks

Owner’s Comments

We were very excited to come across ECOVER OF SKAGEN back in 2014 when looking for a yacht on which we could sail extensively around the world. We were drawn to her extraordinary history, steel hull and we could see how safe she would be for our adventures. We were also very impressed with her complete luxury refit, which meant that she could provide the space, comfort and facilities we required.

We purchased her in France and sailed her to Mallorca where we wanted to explore the Island with family and friends. In 2017 we decided to cross the Atlantic and joined the ARC for some wonderful cruising in the Caribbean, arriving in St Lucia, then Antigua, Martinique and Grenada where she was lifted out during Covid.

It was decided to return her to the UK in May 2021 via the Azores, so that she could have some service work carried out by Berthon.

She has been greatly admired in every port she has visited, with many taking a great interest in her history. Unfortunately, due to a change in business direction, we simply don’t have enough time to spend cruising aboard ECOVER and so feel that we can long longer do her justice. Therefore it is time for new owners to enjoy her.
